First for a confession or two (or three).
- I have never written a blog post before. I have toyed with the idea, but honestly I have never been that comfortable expressing my innermost thoughts and anyway, is anyone really interested?
- I not that into sports and can't remember ever betting before embarking on this Matched Betting journey.
- I'm not that organised and I am quickly learning that the key to success in this game is organisation (more about this later).
So why have I decided to jump on the Matched Betting band wagon, asked no-one.
Well, after spending all my savings on holidays last year (there were 5 of them... it was a big year... I turned 40 so I had to celebrate in style, right?..... some of them were weekend city breaks so don't really count) and realising I was about to be made redundant for the third time and will have some time on my hands, I decided that I needed to a. keep busy and b. find a way to bring some money in whilst I have no income.
This also leads me to the name of this blog, Beach Betting. I am hoping that money I make from Matched Betting will fund many a future holiday (but first I better clear those pesky credit cards).
I have previously dipped my toe into the world of Ebay and Amazon selling and lets just say it is not my forte. The money I made from selling never felt worth all the effort of taking and posting pictures and trying to find inviting, engaging description for an unloved dress or pair of jeans. I am much better suited to the buying process (just ask any of my family, or the bank manager).
Anyway, back to the subject at hand; Between completing surveys, mystery shopping and Google adsense up popped Matched Betting.
"Risk Free", "Earn £1,000 to £2,000 a month for 1 - 2 hours work a day" they said
It seemed too good to be true, but I kept reading and after a week or so decided to jump in and see if the claims were true.
So just before Christmas 2017, I transferred £500 into a spare bank account, started a free trial with Profit Accumulator and started betting (well 8 days later, but that doesn't sound as dramatic). In the past month I have earned approx. £500, with only a few hiccups along the way, all with just an hour or so a day and I'm enjoying the ride.
I am intending to use this blog as a record of my progress, earnings, thoughts and feelings along the way, with a monthly update. My first Earnings post will follow in a week or so, in the meantime, I'm off to see if my horse came in.
Bye for now.
